Join The Chamber of Us

Use your skills where they can actually matter.

TCUS is a volunteer-powered nonprofit building open infrastructure for coordination, implementation, and learning. We use Libelle to help people find meaningful work inside real projects, research, and systems-building efforts.

Libelle is the people layer of the TCUS Superstack. It helps us understand your skills, interests, availability, and preferred level of commitment.

Why join

Good work often fails because the right people never find the right path in.

Many people want to help with climate, education, health, research, technology, and global development, but most volunteer systems are vague. You sign up, wait, and hope someone finds the right thing for you.

TCUS is trying to do something different. We structure work so contributors can move from interest to useful contribution with clearer roles, tasks, expectations, and review.

The goal is not to keep people busy. The goal is to connect real capacity to real work.

How it works

From interest to useful contribution.

We use Libelle to make onboarding more structured, respectful, and useful for both volunteers and project teams.

01

Create your profile

Share your skills, interests, background, availability, and what kind of contribution you are looking for.

02

Review onboarding

Learn how TCUS works, what we are building, how we handle data, and what responsible contribution looks like.

03

Find useful work

Get matched to a project, pod, research task, design need, data workflow, or operating role that fits your capacity.

04

Contribute with support

Join the relevant workspace, pick up scoped work, get review, and help move a real pathway forward.

Ways to help

There is more than one way to build useful infrastructure.

TCUS needs builders, researchers, designers, operators, writers, analysts, engineers, and thoughtful generalists.

Builders

Help develop Libelle, Quasar, Sentinel, Lodestar, internal tooling, and open-source infrastructure.

React · Python · Node · APIs · Databases · DevOps · Testing

Researchers

Help investigate adoption pathways, evidence quality, climate and development systems, and implementation cases.

Desk research · synthesis · citations · policy · systems thinking · case studies

Designers

Help make complex systems understandable through interfaces, diagrams, workflows, templates, and storytelling.

UX · UI · Figma · service design · diagrams · accessibility · content design

Data and AI contributors

Help structure evidence, clean datasets, evaluate models, build pipelines, and improve responsible AI workflows.

Python · pandas · ML · data validation · provenance · evaluation · automation

Project operators

Help turn ideas into organized work through planning, coordination, meeting notes, task boards, and follow-through.

Project management · documentation · GitHub · Slack · operations · facilitation

Writers and storytellers

Help translate TCUS work into clear public updates, case studies, reports, field stories, and partner materials.

Writing · editing · research translation · newsletters · impact stories · grant language

Domain experts

Help us reason through real-world constraints in education, health, housing, construction, energy, climate, and governance.

Engineering · public health · education · construction · climate · nonprofit systems

Thoughtful generalists

Help wherever the pathway is blocked. Sometimes the most valuable work is asking good questions and finishing small tasks well.

Curiosity · reliability · synthesis · coordination · judgment · follow-through

Our work is organized around Pathfinder, the TCUS Superstack, field learning, and volunteer coordination.

People Layer

Libelle

Libelle is our live MVP for volunteer intake, matching, onboarding, and contribution tracking. It helps TCUS turn interest into useful work.

  • Frontend and backend development
  • UX flows and profile experience
  • Matching logic and review workflows
  • Volunteer onboarding and consent design

Evidence Layer

Quasar

Quasar structures evidence, datasets, source history, and provenance so teams can create reliable Evidence Packs.

  • Data schemas and validation
  • Source tracking and provenance
  • Evidence Pack formats
  • Research and dataset review

Analysis Layer

Sentinel

Sentinel surfaces gaps, contradictions, uncertainty, and possible next questions for human review.

  • Uncertainty classification
  • Contradiction detection
  • Readiness analysis
  • Model evaluation and responsible AI testing

Governance Layer

Lodestar

Lodestar supports decision records, consent, ethics, conflict-of-interest checks, and accountability.

  • Decision Ledger templates
  • Governance workflows
  • Consent and data-use review
  • Ethics and accountability documentation

Research

Adoption Pathways

TCUS is studying how promising interventions move from evidence to second decisions, replication, institutional adoption, or bounded use.

  • Construction innovation research
  • Education infrastructure cases
  • Evidence-to-action frameworks
  • Case synthesis and citation review

Field Learning

Impact and Partnerships

TCUS supports trusted partners and learns from real implementation pathways in education, health, and infrastructure.

  • Impact updates and reporting
  • Partner communication support
  • Field story documentation
  • Funding and pathway analysis

Community

Serious work, human pace.

TCUS is powered by a distributed community of volunteers, students, professionals, parents, technologists, researchers, designers, operators, and on-site partners.

We value competence, but we also value kindness, curiosity, humility, and follow-through. We are building systems for real people, so the way we work matters.

Some contributors can give ten hours a week. Some can help with one useful task. Both can matter if the work is scoped honestly.

What we expect

We are volunteer-powered, but not casual about trust.

Be honest about capacity

Tell us what you can realistically do. A small reliable contribution is better than a large vague promise.

Respect the work

TCUS projects involve real partners, real needs, and real constraints. We do not treat field work as a sandbox.

Document what you do

Good documentation helps others continue the work, review decisions, and learn from uncertainty.

Stay human-led

AI can help, but people remain responsible for judgment, ethics, quality, and accountability.
